Sperry High School Football Drives on to the State Championship Game

The Sperry Pirates high school football team has had an historic season. For the first time in school history, Pirate football players will be competing for the state championship title.  After a strong regular season, the Pirates fought their way through the playoffs to square off against the Beggs Demons for the second time this year for the OSSAA Class 2A football championship title.  The game will be played on Thursday, December 6, at 7:00 PM in the Owasso High School football stadium.

The Pirates have controlled the field throughout the playoffs, starting with their 68 to 13 victory over the Wildcats of Salina on November 9.  The next week, the Kellyville Ponies fell to the Pirates in a 49-7 match.  The Eufaula Ironheads took a 44 to 13 beating from the Pirates on November 23.  On November 30, the Pirates dominated the Adair Warriors in a 56 to 8 semi-final game in Claremore.
