Pirate Football Season Comes to a Close
The Sperry High School Pirates football team saw its bid to repeat as State Champions end in the State Quarterfinals last Friday. On a mud-soaked field in misty conditions, in front of a large contingent of Sperry fans that made the nearly four-hour trip to Kingston, the Pirates fell 14-7 to the host Redskins in a close competition between the two powerful teams.
The Pirates end their season with a 12-1 record.
Sperry's seniors end their three-year prep career with an overall 36-5 record.
