I am very excited to begin my 3rd year teaching in Sperry! I began my career in teaching 7 years ago as a 5th and 6th grade science teacher at Sequoyah Elementary in Tulsa. I graduated with my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education from OSU Tulsa. I knew I wanted to become a teacher when I had my first child. I was fascinated with how she learned and how I could help facilitate that. That passion is what brings me to work each day. I love being able to make a difference in the world through our wonderful children. At home I enjoy being a wife and mom to two beautiful children. My daughter will be starting high school this year here in Sperry and my son will continue his learning at the Sperry Childcare Center here at the school. My husband Chris and I have been married for 13 years. He was raised here and graduated from Sperry High School. Although I call Oklahoma home now, I am originally from Arkansas. My hobbies include reading, cooking, gardening, and taking care of our many pets. At school besides teaching English, I am also the sponsor for the Middle School Student Council and I help coach the Middle School Cheer squad. This isn't the ideal year we had hoped for, but I truly believe that greatness grows from struggle. I look forward to an engaging and productive year. Go Pirates!
