Attention Parents and Guardians: Important Information Pertaining to Debt for Student Meals
Attention Parents and Guardians:
Beginning January 22, 2024, the District will resume compliance with its policy that was approved in 2017 pertaining to debt for student meals. This policy was recently revised; however, that revision just increased the allowable charge amounts. Operational procedures are also being shared with families to provide additional information. Key points include the following:
- Students who do not qualify for free meals may charge a maximum of $30.00 in meals, and
- Students who have exceeded the charge limit and students who are without lunch funds after May 1st will receive a nutritious alternate meal. As an example, alternate meals may consist of a sack lunch with a sandwich, fruit, and milk and/or another low-cost entrée.
Contact the District’s Child Nutrition Director, Kristy Carpenter, if you have questions.
