Brady Benham Wrestles to New Record at Sperry Schools

Sperry High School is accustomed to bringing home championships and achieving new successes.  Still, once in a while, that achievement is one that won’t be broken, and will rarely ever be equaled. Sperry senior Brady Benham has made that rare achievement and set a new record for Sperry wrestlers: four state championships in four years. Benham won the 3A division 165 pound weight class at the State Tournament 24.  Only 48 wrestlers in Oklahoma history have taken the State Championship each of their four years in high school, and Benham is the first to do so at Sperry High School. To cap off this achievement, Benham was named the Class 3A Outstanding Wrestler for the State Tournament.

Also bringing back a State Championship was Jesse Justice in the 3A 132 pound weight class.  Justice is a freshman at Sperry High School, and is undoubtedly looking to match Benham’s new school record.

Junior Dillon Abbot placed fourth in the 144 pound weight class for Sperry, and sophomore Conner Pounds and senior Liam Sherril both made it to the third round in their respective weight classes.
