Sperry Public School is accepting applications for the following positions:

 

Certified Position:

Secondary Spanish Teacher- Must have current Oklahoma teaching certificate with Spanish certification for grades 6-12. Duties will focus on high school Spanish I and Spanish II.  Duties may also include introductory short course for 6th and 7th grade students and/or Spanish I for high school credit for 8th grade students.  Preference given to applicants highly qualified in one or more other core content areas

 

 

Coaching Positions:

Support Personnel/Non-Certified:

Maintenance Worker-Twelve-month position.  Duties include maintenance of school buildings and grounds.  Must have a solid understanding of repair techniques and tools for electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, and woodworking skills are desired.  Must be able to safely and properly operate equipment including, but not limited to, tractors, mowers, forklifts, and a wide variety of power tools.  Lifting of 50 pounds or more is frequently required.  See Maintenance Worker Job Description for a more complete description of duties and requirements.

Substitute Teachers-Duties include classroom management, presentation of instructional materials prepared by the regular classroom teacher, assisting students with lessons as needed.

Crosswalk Monitor–Duties include protecting and assisting children in crosswalks as they go to and/or leave the school campus, monitoring traffic and area activity for potential safety hazards to children, and setting out and putting away school traffic signs and cones.  Must be able to be standing/walking for extended periods of time and capable of remaining alert to area automobile and pedestrian traffic activity, must be knowledgeable of basic traffic regulations, and must possess effective communication skills and be willing to maintain a positive demeanor throughout assigned activity.  This is a part-time position.  Crosswalk Monitor Job Description.

Part-Time dishwasher/Food-Service Worker-Duties include loading/unloading dishwasher, serving, and may include running cash register, cooking, and cleaning.  Experience in food-services preferred. 

CustodianDuties include cleaning and maintaining facilities (classrooms, halls, offices, restrooms, gymnasium/locker rooms, etc.) using proper chemicals, equipment and techniques; securing buildings and locking facility doors and setting alarm system; and some lifting, carrying, and physical labor required.  Preference given to individuals with experience using industrial cleaning/maintenance equipment and materials.  Basic knowledge of effective and efficient housekeeping techniques, procedures, and equipment is required.
