Sperry Public School is accepting applications for the following positions:
Elementary Special Education Teacher-Must have current Oklahoma special education teaching certificate in Severe/Profound or Mild-Moderate and be highly qualified in Early Childhood or Elementary Education. Preference will be given to candidates with three or more years of experience teaching in a Severe/Profound environment, and highly qualified in both Early Childhood and Elementary Education.
Secondary Special Education Teacher-Must have current Oklahoma special education teaching certificate in Mild-Moderate and be highly qualified in secondary English. Duties to include middle school and some high school English direct instruction classes.
Secondary English Teacher-Must have current Oklahoma teaching certificate and be certified and highly qualified in English/language arts. Duties may include both middle school and high school levels. Experience in teaching middle school English preferred.
Coaching positions may be open to applicants qualifying for one or more certified positions.
Paraprofessional-Duties include assisting certified teacher in providing a positive learning environment, improving student general self-care and their physical, social, communication, and intellectual skills.
Substitute Teachers-Duties include classroom management, presentation of instructional materials prepared by the regular classroom teacher, assisting students with lessons as needed.
Child Nutrition/Cafeteria Worker-Duties include running cash register, cooking, cleaning, serving, completing daily child nutrition paperwork, and supervising work of kitchen staff. Experience in food-services preferred.
Dishwasher/Food-Service Worker-Duties include loading/unloading dishwasher, serving, and may include running cash register, cooking, and cleaning. Experience in food-services preferred.
Custodian/Head Custodian–Duties include cleaning and maintaining facilities (classrooms, halls, offices, restrooms, gymnasium/locker rooms, etc.) using proper chemicals, equipment and techniques; securing buildings and locking facility doors and setting alarm system; and some lifting, carrying, and physical labor required. Preference given to individuals with experience using industrial cleaning/maintenance equipment and materials. Basic knowledge of effective and efficient housekeeping techniques, procedures, and equipment is required.
