Sperry High School Addresses Incident Involving Unloaded Firearm

Today, Sperry High School administration was informed that a student had a firearm in their backpack. Upon investigation, the student admitted to possessing an unloaded pistol, stating they found it on their way to school. At no time did the student threaten anyone with the firearm.
School officials promptly confiscated the pistol and turned it over to the Sperry Police Department for further investigation. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and we can confirm that all students are safe. The school has followed all district protocols and is cooperating fully with local law enforcement.
