Pirate Baseball Scores a District Championship

The Sperry High School baseball team ended its regular season on Monday, April 25, hosting Mannford in a Tulsa 7 Conference game on Bill Fisher Field.

The Pirates’ season ended with 21 wins and eight losses, with a 3A-5 record of 11 wins and one loss, garnering them the District Championship.  As District Champions, the Pirates were able to sit out the first round of playoffs on Monday.  The Pirates have won nine of their last 11 games. The Pirates defeated Meeker earlier in April with an18-0 score to clinch the district title, allowing the team to have a Bi-Districts bye.

The team will host a Class 3A Regional Tournament beginning on Thursday, May 5.

Teams and game times will be determined following the Bi-District round of the playoffs.

"I'm happy with how we have performed this year," said Pirates head coach Denton Wolf. "We have another week to continue to grow and get better, and I'm looking forward to watching our guys compete throughout the playoffs."
