Dr. Brian Beagles

Superintendent

Brian Beagles serves as Superintendent of Sperry Public Schools, where he provides leadership for the district's instructional programs, personnel, finances, operations, and long-term planning while working with the Board of Education, administrators, teachers, staff, students, and community to advance the district's mission. He has worked in education for 38 years, including the past 18 years at Sperry. Before coming to Sperry, Dr. Beagles served in a variety of administrative and instructional roles, including Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services and Executive Director of School Improvement and Accountability with Broken Arrow Public Schools, Director of Human Resources and Support Services and Assistant High School Principal with Bartlesville Public Schools, and Middle School Principal and Director of Special Services with Caney Valley Public Schools. He began his career as a technology education teacher at Caney Valley and also served as a commissioned infantry officer in the Oklahoma Army National Guard.

Dr. Beagles earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Education in School Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from Oklahoma State University. He holds Oklahoma standard certifications in teaching, secondary administration, and superintendency, as well as certifications as a Curriculum Management Associate Auditor and Curriculum Management Auditor through Curriculum Management Systems, Inc. His professional experience has included developing district-wide strategic plans, implementing criterion-referenced assessment and reporting systems, developing staffing models based on levels of service, and conducting curriculum management audits for school districts in Oklahoma and other states. His background in curriculum, school improvement, assessment, personnel, and district administration has provided him with a broad perspective on the many areas necessary to effectively lead a school district.

What he enjoys most about working at Sperry is the small-town atmosphere and the opportunity to know many of the students, parents, and educators personally. He values the strong relationships that can develop in a smaller school community and appreciates being part of a district where people genuinely care about the success of students and the community. He enjoys working alongside Sperry's teachers, administrators, and support staff and seeing their dedication to providing students with opportunities to learn and succeed.

During his time at Sperry, Dr. Beagles hopes to continue contributing to the long-term success and stability of the district by ensuring that its resources are managed effectively and responsibly in support of the district's mission of providing an excellent education for all students. He believes that thoughtful planning, responsible stewardship of resources, strong relationships, and a continued focus on teaching and learning are essential to maintaining a successful school district.

On a personal note, Dr. Beagles is married and has two children, both of whom graduated from Sperry Public Schools. He is proud that they received an outstanding education at Sperry and went on to pursue successful careers; his son is an orthopedic surgeon, and his daughter is a critical care hospital pharmacist. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly working on his property, hunting, and fishing.
