Traci Taylor

Director of Teaching and Learning

Mrs. Traci Taylor serves as Director of Teaching and Learning for Sperry Public Schools. She has worked in education for 28 years, all of which have been with Sperry Public Schools. During her career, she has served in a variety of instructional and administrative roles. She began her career as a kindergarten teacher, a position she held for 13 years, before moving into school administration. She later served as an elementary assistant principal, elementary principal, and special education director. Her experience in the classroom and in school administration has provided her with a broad understanding of the academic, instructional, and student-support needs of a school district.

Mrs. Taylor earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from the University of Oklahoma, where she was honored as the College of Education’s Senior of the Year upon graduation. After teaching for several years, she returned to the University of Oklahoma to earn a Master of Education in Educational Administration, Curriculum, and Supervision. She holds Oklahoma certifications in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Administration, and Secondary Administration. Mrs. Taylor’s experience in the classroom, school administration, and special education has provided her with a broad perspective on the many factors that contribute to student success. Her years of working directly with students, teachers, and school leaders have shaped her belief that strong relationships, effective instruction, and a commitment to meeting the individual needs of students are essential to a successful school district.

What Mrs. Taylor enjoys most about working at Sperry is the opportunity to give back to the school and community where she grew up. She values working alongside teachers, administrators, and support staff who are committed to helping students excel both socially and academically to reach their full potential. She appreciates the welcoming and friendly atmosphere created through the strong relationship between Sperry Public Schools and the community it serves.

Throughout her career as a teacher and elementary administrator, Mrs. Taylor’s goal has been to make a difference in the life of every child by supporting their social, emotional, and academic needs while helping educators provide the same support to their students. In her current role, she hopes to broaden that impact by working with principals and teachers to provide resources, guidance, and support that strengthen classroom instruction and ensure students receive the highest quality education possible. She also works to support the district’s mission through state and federal reporting, oversight of federal programs, curriculum and testing initiatives, professional development, and providing clear and current information to families through the district website. Mrs. Taylor is committed to supporting Superintendent Dr. Brian Beagles and his vision of providing excellence in education for every student.

On a personal note, Mrs. Taylor is proud to have spent her entire 28-year career serving the Sperry community where she grew up. She is also proud that her children, Barry and Trinity, are both graduates of Sperry Public Schools. Today, Barry is an ICU nurse, and Trinity is working full time, has obtained her associate degree and will soon begin pursuing a degree in nursing. Seeing her children grow into thriving young adults has strengthened Mrs. Taylor’s appreciation for the education and opportunities provided by Sperry Public Schools. Outside of school, she enjoys crafting, reading, and traveling. Most of all, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Joe, and their adult children.
