Delaney Fancher

Strength and Conditioning Teacher

Delaney Fancher teaches 9th–12th grade Strength and Conditioning and coaches fastpitch and slowpitch softball. She has been in education for 10 years and coaching for 11 years, including the past four years at Sperry Public Schools. Mrs. Fancher attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and Northeastern State University, earning an Associate of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Science in Science Education. Before coming to Sperry, she taught for seven years and coached for eight years at Claremore Sequoyah.

What Mrs. Fancher enjoys most about teaching is helping students discover what they are capable of achieving. She loves watching students grow stronger, build confidence, challenge themselves, and accomplish things they may not have thought possible. She wants students to understand that the weight room is a place where everyone has room to grow, regardless of their strength, speed, or experience. Through strength and conditioning, she hopes students develop discipline, perseverance, confidence, and a strong work ethic while learning skills that will help them stay active, healthy, and strong throughout their lives. She also values the sense of community the weight room creates, where students encourage one another, work through adversity, and support athletes of every sport and position.

Outside of school, Mrs. Fancher loves spending time with her husband, daughter, and son. One of her favorite things about Sperry Public Schools is the strong sense of community and the way the staff supports and encourages one another like family. A fun fact about Mrs. Fancher is that softball has played a role in nearly every part of her life. She played throughout her childhood, earned help paying for college through the sport, found her career through softball, met her husband because of it, and now shares two beautiful children with him. As she says, you never know where a sport might lead you!
