Kevin Brown
History, Native American Studies, and Character Education Teacher
Kevin Brown teaches high school social studies for grades 9–12 at Sperry Public Schools and coaches tennis and cross country. He is in his 10th year in education, all of which have been spent at Sperry. Mr. Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, with a focus on American History, from the University of Oklahoma and also attended the University of Kansas.
What Mr. Brown enjoys most about teaching and coaching is watching students grow in confidence and realize they are capable of much more, both academically and athletically. He especially enjoys seeing students and athletes experience something new for the first time and celebrating their progress with them. Mr. Brown wants his students to know that his classroom is a place where they can express themselves, think critically, and feel comfortable making mistakes. He encourages students to ask questions, explore ideas, and engage in thoughtful discussion and debate as part of the learning process.
