Connie Alsabrook

Reading Specialist

Connie Alsabrook is an elementary Reading Specialist at Sperry Public Schools, where she has spent all 24 years of her career in education. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Reading from Northeastern State University. Ms. Alsabrook is passionate about teaching students the fundamentals of reading because she believes reading is one of the greatest pathways to success in other subjects.

What Ms. Alsabrook enjoys most about teaching is helping students build the reading skills they need to succeed. She wants her students to know that no matter how difficult a task may seem, she is there to support them and help them reach their full potential. She also wants every student to know they are cared about and that hard work can pay off. By working with students in small groups, she can provide the individual attention each child needs to become a stronger reader.

Outside of school, Ms. Alsabrook enjoys gardening, spending time with family and friends, reading, and supporting the Band of Pirates. One of her favorite things about Sperry is being part of a small community where she can get to know the students and families she serves. She especially enjoys seeing former students return to Sperry with children of their own. As a Sperry graduate, she loves that her son, Jack, has had the opportunity to grow up in the same school community that helped shape her own life.
