Caitlyn Freeman
Fifth Grade Science and Social Studies Teacher
Caitlyn Freeman has been an educator for 15 years, including the past five years at Sperry Public Schools. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. Her teaching experience includes Austin ISD, Owasso Public Schools, and Sperry Public Schools.
What she enjoys most about teaching is seeing those special “ah-ha” moments when a student finally understands a concept. She loves seeing the excitement in a student's eyes when something clicks and they begin to feel confident. Mrs. Freeman enjoys hands-on learning because she believes it is one of the most engaging ways for students to learn and hopes her students develop a love and passion for something new they may not have experienced before.
Mrs. Freeman incorporates at least two hands-on activities each week to help students build background knowledge and make meaningful connections to what they are learning. She strives to make learning active, engaging, and memorable.
Outside of school, Mrs. Freeman enjoys spending time with her children, watching them play sports, and being outdoors. She loves Sperry's small-community atmosphere, which has become like a second family to her. She especially enjoys walking through the halls and recognizing the familiar faces of students, parents, and grandparents throughout the school community. A fun fact about Mrs. Freeman is that she once held her college's single-season home run record during her senior year, and she was part of the 2005 6A state championship basketball team.
